Day 8 - Alice in the Country of Hearts: My Fanatic Rabbit Complete

Decided to read the two-volume manga and share how I feel about it. It is a side series within the Alice of the Country of Hearts which focuses on the March Hare, Elliot March of the Hatter Mansion and his relationship with the ever so lovely, yet stubborn Alice. Imagine being in a world where everyone is meant to love you, where time changes on a whim or where you just want a place to somewhat fit in, but you will always be that outsider that is highly desired? This is the manga for you where you can live through Alice in this type of world where you are trapped until you fill that one single vial.

Complete Series
The story seems to follow Alice’s relationship with Elliot March, even to the dismay of Peter White who still longs for Alice for himself. Still trying to live in a world that is totally mad where hurting one another is as common as a handshake, Alice agrees to stay in the Hatter mansion where she ends up learning more about it, even taught to wield a gun! That is, until she is trapped in the Heart Castle and this is just within the first volume.
The second volume starts with Alice still trapped within the Heart Castle with the queen thirsting to chop off Alice’s head. Then feelings grow between Elliot and Alice, but will she remain in Wonderland or return to the world where her sister is? Find out in the conclusive volume 2, it’s well worth the read.

Compared to the art style of Alice in the Country of Hearts, it seems more simpler to me and seems less focused on detail and more on simplicity. Which I enjoy since I feel like it brings more emotion and feeling to the work. Not saying more intricate work doesn’t but I feel this art style suits this manga series. Even though it seems like different people seem to be doing different volumes within this expansive world of Alice and the country of whatever.

Alice is Alice to me, I don’t really feel much for her, other than I can relate to not being so honest about things about me and my feelings.
I enjoy characters like the twins, March Hare and Blood where they seem to hold more within than they ever show. I feel like I can learn so much about them and no amount of reading makes me feel like I know all about them.
Also, I have such a weak spot for Peter White even though he gets his butt kicked often by Alice since she doesn’t quite feel the same way about him, considering he did force her into his realm of Wonderland. But not as much as I adore Vivaldi, she just amuses me so much and I can relate to her so well on having a weakness for cute things too.

It follows Alice and her adventures of Wonderland but this one seems to follow the story where she chooses the March Hare compared to the other bachelors, since this whole series is based on the otome game of the same title where you have the options of hooking up with many of the key characters such as Blood Dupre and Elliot.

I do admit I enjoy the manga version more since I have far easier access to it compared to the game, even if it means buying a multitude of mangas to see all the paths and endings. There are about 7 other series alone in the Country of Hearts, considering you also have Diamond, Clover, Fables, Joker and Twin World as other series to consider procuring to have the entire collection.

Since I don’t wish to spoil the series, considering it’s a short one, I will conclude here. I really enjoyed it and I would love everyone to give this series a read especially if you love the Alice in Wonderland series and that sort of whimsical world. I do recommend that one gives Alice in the Country of Hearts a read first before going into the side series, like My Fanatic Rabbit since it is a more condensed version and centres more on other characters that Alice can be with. Any whom, I give this a 4/5 bookmarks since I enjoyed it thoroughly and hope everyone gives the series a gander at least once.
