I been a bit lazy this week when it came to reading, since I
had a lot going on and then followed by my current addiction of Harvest Moon:
Light of Hope on the PS4, honestly, it’s
a lot of fun and I am super pleased to have it on the PlayStation, even though
the Switch could use some games but it wasn’t in stock. Anyway, back to the
manga, I finished about 10 volumes this week and currently reading Gantz G
volume 1.
So here is my list this week:
- The Promised Neverland vol. 2 – 8
- I want to eat your Pancreas Omnibus
- Pokémon Adventures vol. 1
So, it’s hard to choose a favourite since The Promised
Neverland is still ongoing and getting really interesting, especially that
tasty storyline, wow, that just blew me away and I love how everything is
starting to come together as well as meeting all the new characters. I cannot
get enough of this series, I already have 9 ordered, thanks to the lovely
Mousey, and waiting for that sweet release date, this also applies to Platinum
End, which is being read after Gantz G.
The other amazing read of the week is I want to eat your
Pancreas.
Without a doubt, it’s the saddest story I have read this year. It follows an introverted man as he finds out a secret about the most popular girl and that is, she is going to die of Pancreatic disease. Not wanting to get close, he somehow ended up being her friend and they go on an amazing adventure of friendship and changes.

I love the story for that, I love seeing characters come together and bring out
sides of each other they never really had. The ending was bound to happen, but
it still is like a punch to the gut and you are left with a sadness, since it
felt like I lost a friend, in a way. As much as I feel like it’s spoiling the
story, well kind of isn’t going to spoil much since it was already known that
Sakura was not going to live. I still feel the sadness as I reflect on the
story but at the same time, I do not regret reading it, but I do regret not
grabbing the light novel. I hope to obtain that one day.
Pokémon Adventures wouldn’t be the worst read of this week,
just in the middle section if there were others to compete with. I really
enjoyed this series, even if I didn’t find it appealing at first but now it has
inspired me to consider buying the box set of the Red and Blue story arc.
I do eventually wish to obtain the whole Pokémon collection, but I plan to do so in boxset form since it’s a lot cheaper that way and would look pretty nifty on my shelf as a group. I know there is about 4 other boxsets, but I haven’t looked more deeply than the first few volumes.

I am unsure of what else to add since I am not really
feeling too great, the weather is not really helping and I am also having a
huge itch to go play more Harvest Moon cause I really want my big house in that
so I can actually store stuff instead of carrying everything around. Until
then, hopefully I read more books and be able to talk more deeply about them.
