Good news everynyan!
Okay, mainly for me since I managed to win a manga from
Kinokuniya. I couldn’t believe it because I didn’t expect to win or anything.
So, I now am a proud owner of Tokyo Tarareba Girls volume 1, since it is
apparently a really underrated manga series. I personally may not agree with
that since observing a small portion of the manga community on Instagram has
shown me that the series is actually fairly popular and highly desired.
Tokyo Tarareba Girls follows our 33-year-old protagonist
Rinko, who has felt she has done everything right in her life, such as working
hard in her 20s to become a screenwriter, renting her own trendy Tokyo
apartment and everything has been coming to fruition in her life plans. Yet,
she can’t help but lament over the fact that it’s not all getting better as her
career has plateaued, still painfully single and spends most nights drinking
with her two best friends at their favourite pub.
One night, while under the influence and pretty delusional, she vows to be married by time the Tokyo Olympics happens in 2020 but that’s the least of her problems since she needs to find herself a man, let alone to love, which is a cutthroat and dirty job for a romantic at heart.

Personally, it sounds very interesting since I can somewhat
relate, considering I have moments where I question things and go on what-if
tangents and make grand statements like getting married before a certain time
or having kids by a certain age. Then again, I enjoy Akiko Higashimura whose
previous work of Princess Jellyfish was a very fascinating read for me and I
hope to one day obtain that delightful series in a complete boxset.
So, you may or may not be wondering how I manage to win this
manga?
Well, it was simple. Watched a video, sent in an email answering which one I would like to win and why. Simple it was but there were also other amazing series that captivated my interest but since either owning them or reading them in the past, they were exempted from the list and Tokyo Tarareba Girls was the one who called out to me and I entered in hopes of winning it and boom! I won it, it really made my day.

I do honestly plan to read it in the coming days, so I have
a reason to go on about this series. Hopefully I can finish this at a
reasonable rate compared to Princess Jellyfish cause me delaying means saving
up for the boxset instead. Anyway, that is all, read all the things!
