So here is the final part of the weekly reads between the 2nd
to the 8th, I think I may have missed a week somewhere, but we will
never know, because I don’t even know.
Any whom, these are the final contenders for this week:
Any whom, these are the final contenders for this week:
- Doubt vol. 1+2
- Judge Vol. 1-6
- Secret vol. 1-3
All these are done by Yoshiki Tonogai, which is a creator I
am quite fond of since they seem to do a lot of horror mangas, mostly seem to revolve
locked room thriller where usually there is someone out to kill them due to
some reason and its usually revenge.
This series can be done out of order since they don’t overlap
greatly but if people want to read them in some form of order, you start with
Doubt, Judge and then finally Secret. Let’s talk about them.
First, we have Doubt.
A four volume manga which I have in a two volume Omnibus. This revolves around the game called Doubt Rabbit, which is about a wolf infiltrating a group of rabbits and kills one each night, then all the rabbits have to correctly guess the wolf before they are all dead and the wolf wins. Just like werewolf the tabletop game.
Anyway, a group of people meet after playing the game together quite a while, but things go from fun to bad to worse as they are kidnapped and locked in an abandoned building as they must find the wolf among them.
The ending is not what I guessed, which is really good since
I usually good at doing and I love it for that so much. I enjoy the art and
characters but the story, right at the top of stories I enjoy but then again, I
am biased as hell when it comes to anything horror since I am a big horror fan
and can never have too many horror mangas.
Next, we have Secret, the second series with the most
volumes sitting at six.
These are individual volumes rather than the omnibus. This one still has the locked room story but instead in an abandoned courtroom where nine people are placed there representing the sins, they are guilty of committing. They are expected to face it and judge on which one deserves to die more but, of course, they don’t. They get paranoid and basically kill each other out of paranoia and doubt but there is more going on in the background and how it ends is even more amazing compared to Doubts ending and it makes me happy to obtain this series too.
It's hard to add more when I basically gushed about it with Doubt
but then again, I really enjoyed this series and probably every time I read
them, since I read these series often again.
So, to rush myself to the end because I don’t want to start
spoiling the stories. Next, we have Secret.
Secret is a three-volume series, but the story is not limited to a locked building but more open world where the characters all seem to have secrets in regard to the bus accident that they survived but a majority of their class has died in. Accident or Purposely done? Reading the story tells you since the students are faced with doubt and suspicion to their classmates on who may be the murderer and judge them before all the evidence is handed in within the week.

Out of the three, I enjoyed the characters a bit more in the
series but the story is probably near the bottom out of the three and it’s hard
to choose which has the best art when it’s all the same to me and the only difference
is time release between the volumes.
That’s it for this part of the series and hopefully tomorrow
I may have a blog and video up but no promises since I am going to the
community day for Pokemon Go and have some social time. Hopefully, it will be
done by Sunday, fingers crossed. So please give these mangas a gander and
remember, read all the things!
