Nana to Kaoru Appreciation Post

Main Series 1- 18

Anyone who knows me knows that this is a series I wished was translated into English so I could feel more supportive of the industry, that and how much I have adored this series since I first read it.

Now I gave up with waiting. I decided to hell with it and get the Japanese editions of Nana and Kaoru (Nana to Kaoru), also grabbed Black Label and Last Year as well cause might as well get as much as this series as I possibly could.

There is no regrets here but I now feel a drive to actually better what little Japanese I know into an ability that would allow myself to fully immerse into my favourite series.

I do plan to buy other series that companies either won’t print or license into English cause why should I keep waiting for something when I can support the original publication? Also, there is something about owning the original form of a manga in it’s original language.

It doesn’t help that these are absolutely gorgeous and I am in love with them. It's a pity that you can't get these in English but you can basically get them in German, French and I think Spanish, so quite a few European countries. Heck, I noticed it gets asked for quite a bit and I wish it got noticed cause despite the S&M themes, it's a rather cute series that focuses on relationships and personal growth and development as well as giving a much better view of how S&M and BDSM works, unlike the other series that got printed which didn't start off with consent, looking at you Pleasure and Corruption. Don't get me wrong, Pleasure and Corruption is not a bad series but it's not a great representation of Bondage either.

So, Nana to Kaoru (Nana and Kaoru) is an 18 volume series by Ryuta Amazume where it's about a 17yo Kaoru who has a love for S&M and Bondage, who is in love with his childhood friend Nana, not only that but he imagines doing such things with her. Until one day his mother hid his gear with Nana to try and get him to study. Nana, who is having a rut with her studies, decided to peek into the bag, she pulls out the leather one-piece and tries it on, pondering why it seems to fit her, without realising she accidentally locks herself into it, of course, she doesn't have the key! Embarrassed, she goes to the one person who can get her out of it, Kaoru. This starts a S&M comedy about a boy and a girl who uses these themes as a way to develop themselves and their relationships, not just around them, but between themselves.

It has a lot of ecchi and fan service in it but the one aspect I love the most is the romantic and slice of life themes that the story embodies. It's just a pity people see it and go "ewww" without reading it. Sure, it has some strong themes (urinating in public, bondage, pet play) but it also focuses and shows the development of relationships and characters within the story. It starts off like a cliche but it becomes something so sweet and sensual that it's an utter shame that this doesn't have an English print.

Though, now I don't care if it does get one (if it does, I'd get it just to sit with the Japanese) but I am super thrilled to have this series thanks to my partners help, he knew how long I wanted these and we finally found two sellers that had the lot. I am eternally grateful for having a series I love. It's the year of dreams coming true~!

These two take after the main series, Black Label is complete with 5 and Last Year ongoing with 3

Day 5 - Manga Procurement Squad #1

This may be a small update since I am half asleep and unsure on what to post.

Naruto 1-60
Me and my partner finally procured some mangas from someone for an amazing price. My Partner managed to get 60 volumes of Naruto, a few is a bit sun damaged, bit warped, a few had a stain on them, some even laminated and contain bonus content, but they are in amazing conditions and they were well worth the money. This has inspired me to eventually roam more often on Gumtree and eBay for good manga deals, seems like a lot of people want to sell due to space. That means more for me eventually. Then again, procuring these mangas was like a form of nostalgia since these were very popular when I first started and remain very relevant at this time.

My plans, after reading K-On and Kobato, is to read the Naruto volumes and eventually hand them back to my partner. I did start reading them ages ago but never got further than volume 5, I think but glad that my partner nearly has the whole set for us to eventually read through. Soon, obtain the final 12 volumes and we can put that baby to rest.
Death Note minus 2

I mange to get a boxset of the older Death Note collection, it had 13 missing but I’m glad to find book 13 second hand before procuring this box, considering I had the complete set and it lacked 13 too, either way, it now has a spot in the box to fill. I am kind of glad to finally obtain and finish this set, since I started it years ago, never finished and sadly gave it away to someone when I went through my bad time.

Bread Top
The only issue I had is they didn’t quite mention that volume 2 is missing but that’s okay, it’s easy to get and I am glad that I had procured volume 13 previously but the main pro is that I got the boxset with the exclusive booklet in it and that makes it worth it. It also can’t close properly but a little glue and love goes a long way to fix this baby. Now, just waiting for two to come in and I can binge read this again.

Newest darlings
Also, on the other items procured today besides delicious bread from Bread Top, me and my partner got some Pop Vinyls and I am pleased to have a little Pusheen Dragon, Chuchu and Legolas on my bookshelf protecting the manga.

I am no connoisseur of goods and figurines, but I do enjoy the look and feel of these new Pop Vinyls and they are being added to my collection that is inconsistent at best. My partner got his first one in the form of a little T-Rex with its tiny body and big head, it’s hard to not fall in love with it.

Again, I do apologise for the short update but hopefully tomorrow I have a review for K-On.

Manga – Where did I begin?

I am not keen on restarting on a professional note but rather a personal one where people can understand where my hobbies started and other things that may not mean much but it could give me a to understand myself and my hobbies.

I don’t recall when I started collecting manga exactly but I can mention how it all began and in a way, it wasn’t the best of reasons to start a hobby.

It began in HS, around 2003 when I made a group of friends who was into Anime and such. One day, they brought a manga in and I loved it because of how different and interesting it was but the other reason I kept liking it and anime was because I wanted to fit in and stay with these friends. So I kept collecting them.
It was when I was looking at these five that I remember the joy they brought me and that I didn’t buy them because of those friends but because I wanted them for myself. I manage to reclaim some series I nearly gave away at the time and spent a few years in a limbo where I was figuring myself out. It was about 2015 when I made my current group of friends and reminded me of why I loved Video Games and discovered I enjoyed Tabletop Games and games like DnD.
This is why I collect manga. They bring a joy to my usual somewhat gloomy world.

I started with Fruits Basket, Battle Royale, Cardcaptor Sakura, Chobits and X/1999. Sadly, I wish I recall who was first but I sadly can’t. I can recall going to EB when they use to have this tiny arse collection that I use to think was huge and I bought most of my volumes there, heck being $15aud a volume was a lot then but to me, it was worth spending a large chunk of pocket money on it, then again, I was 13/14 years old and had so little care other than knowing if I could get the next manga or another video game cause I could only have one or the other.

Then the next year, my friends took me to Kinokuniya where I use to save up and buy hundreds of dollars on mangas. I got into more series but mainly the ones my friends liked, since I still wanted to belong with them. This went on till for about a year and then the visits got less and eventually 2012/13 rolled around and that’s when things went wrong with my friends, slander was spread about me and I lost all my friends.
I no longer had a reason to keep collecting mangas or watch anime, the love for them died horribly. I could no longer look at them, so I tried to give them all away but when it came to the first five series I ever owned, I couldn’t let them go.

One of my friends, who is also my Ex, reminded me of why I use to love manga and it sort of rekindled my love for anime. Sadly it didn’t last long since I can’t get myself back into it. He helped me start buying manga again, as a way to help me feel better about my current issue and it worked for a bit but I couldn’t fully love them and I use to get angry at them for being such a bad reminder.

This is what Mouse did and it may not have been much at the time but now I realise it meant a lot.

Then I met my Mouse, he has helped me with myself and in turn, I started to love manga again. I started setting funds aside every pay to buy new volumes, to collect both old and new series, he even helps me buy them too. The one thing that helped me with ending my hatred for manga was the day I lost my temper at the manga, I couldn’t look at them, I couldn’t touch them. Mouse came over and helped me put them back on the shelf and made them look beautiful. I sat there, looking at them and since then, I started to let go of the stigma I had towards them. He really helped me that day when it came to manga and myself. I’m so glad I met and end up with an amazing guy like him.

I started with about 5 series and had fluctuations between the years until today where I have nearly 600 volumes in 90 series and 19 one-shots for a total of 109 manga titles. I regret one thing, it was letting this hobby have it’s love stolen by toxic people and missing out on some rare series or having volumes stolen and now having a hard time finding replacements. It’s the only regret but I am working on making this collection beautiful again, something to be amazed by.
I want to read so many stories, meet so many characters and enjoy what they can offer.

Murmurs of the lazy

I haven't been posting much cause I have been unsure of my thoughts and words. I haven't been able to read much and even then, unsure of what I could say but I have been changing my room around and I hope to find inspiration.

For now I will share two images.
The one with the cat was taken two years ago when I had about 150 mangas. The second image was taken today with over 250 mangas with several more on the way. I like the fact that I nearly have 100 more mangas within that year and I hope that, again, in two years time there is even more. Hopefully I will have series I dream of owning since I was in HS but who knows.

Sometimes I wonder if I will love this hobby till I die since I did once lose the love for it. With the man I call my partner, I think he will help me keep my love for it, he actually supports it so readily. I adore that so much about him.

Manga Mumbles: musings of a collector

I been collecting mangas on and off for years. In a way, I use to collect when I was trying to fit in with certain people. Then when they left, I was stuck with things that reminded me of them.

So for a few years, I would look or read them from time to time but never bought more cause I felt alone in this hobby and so I ended up focusing on collecting video games.

In the last three years, I went to buying mangas again, once every few months and I rediscovered the joy in it. I may have regreted the hiatus in collecting and missing out on a few series or being able to replace the stolen volumes but that gave me the incentive to buy the omnibus volumes of the mangas. Mainly Neon Genesis Evangelion and Death Note.
I also plan on rebuying series I gave away during my down times, like Ouran High Host Club, Kingdom Hearts and Millennium Snow.
There are also a lot of incomplete series but they are now put in an order of most desired/shortest to first and so forth.

Heck, the most exciting part is finding out about new mangas and deciding which ones to buy.
While at the same time, I made an Instagram account based purely on manga to try and talk to more like minded people, see what they like and recommend and possibly one day buying them too. It's kinda exciting.

I feel kinda glad to rekindle my love for manga and taught myself that I am able to buy a bunch once a month and I can start new series once I finish one. So, next may be Food Wars but that's after I finish Evangelion and one other series lol. It's only cause Food wars is a current manga and a long series.
Guess one thing hasn't changed since I started, I don't like buying long series. I prefer them under 15 volumes but if they go over, hopefully not more than 30 *coughGantzcough*

Anywhom, the attached images are my current set-up and shelves of my mangas. One day I'd like to have them spread out on one shelf instead of two rowed like it currently is but that's for future Mizu can fulfil one day. If she does, she better come back to this post and show off the success lol xD

Mail Mumbles: Fallen into Fantasy Pins

First time I'm making a post about pins.
I don't know what to say about them cause I am no expert, just a buyer of cute and affordable things.

So recently, I got into pin collecting and started to mass a formidable collection of a variety of pins but today, my Cardcaptor Sakura pins came in with a food kitty pin. They are really adorable.

The seals have glitter on some parts and apparently glow in the dark, which I can't wait to see tonight with the other pins that glow. They are rather big but thats what I really like and I can sit other pins in the middle of them, if I so wish. Which is kinda unique.

Kero and Spinel are really cute too and they pair perfectly with the seals. Mainly Kero with the pink since it seems to be a gold plating while Spinel goes with the blue cause silver. I mean, I am not sure on what else to say but honestly, these are solid pins that look amazing in my collection and when I hold them, they have a good weight to them. The colours are beautiful, the glitter really brings a magical feel to the seal and it's honestly a must have for any pin collector that loves Cardcaptor Sakura. The heads have one pin prong while the seal has three, which is understandable for the size that each pin is.

Now the Noodle kitty, or as I call it, the Food Kitty is on a black plating (or is it onyx or gunmetal grey, I am terrible with names) but it brings me such joy looking at it cause you can tell it's having a grand time on the egg and the cute noodle bowl/cup on its head. Reminds me of the scene in Danganronpa which is another reason why I love this pin, it reminds me of something else I love and enjoy. It also fits in with the theme of Cats with Food, especially the Asian or Noodle kind. Like the other pins, the colours are gorgeous, it has a nice weight to it and has two pins at the back which makes it rather stable and less likely to move once placed on something.

For being an Aussie buyer, price is everything and most of the time, after converting the currency and then the shipping. It really makes or breaks a purchase. These pins are well worth the money, I spent about 50aud on the pins, as well as using a discount code provided by Fallen into Fantasy, which makes each pin about 10aud each which is amazing and worth it for me. Normally I wouldn't go on about prices but for someone with a low income but a love for pricey things, it means a lot to mention that if I can afford it, then anyone could. So if you're like me, you can buy pretty things that you love if you know where to look.

So please visit Fallen into Fantasy at their Instagram or their Etsy shop for all their creations, you won't regret it!

Food Fuss: Takoyaki

Today, I helped make takoyaki. I mean, not from scratch but I am still pretty proud of myself for doing pretty good on my first attempt.

My friends seem to enjoy it too =D

Next I will be eating some stir fry and possibly playing more tabletop games. This weekend is a much needed thing for me.

All dem changes

So recently I have moved from an area I spent nearly 25 years living in but now I am all the way in Narellan or Camden or if anything it's right near Campbelltown.
I mean, it's nice here but my family is still rather stressful. Very stressful actually.
So if I actually go into details, it be like this.
The house is tense cause most of us won't speak against my sister since it causes more trouble than it's worth. If you do something my sister does not like, everyone will hear about it.
I am trying to get along with her but she really pushes my buttons and I am trying not to kill her at times. That is as much as I'd like to go into it.

So I finally went to TAFE for the first time in a few years and within Diploma of Chemical and Forensic Testing and I love the subject and I made a few friends and they tend to miss me when I am not there, which is nice and the only problem is the trip to Granville but hey, I do like trips on Buses and Trains.
The above image is outside Building C while I was waiting Tuesday morning for class since I was waiting for class for two hours and the one to the left is inside the building, yes inside, I always noticed it when I was last at the TAFE over three years ago but this is the first time I took a picture, it's so pretty.
Thursday: This is my terrible art I did during class when I was bored and finished with the work. Also a peep from class went to Taekwon Do with me and apparently he done it for a few years before, which is minorly fascinating but he does annoy me when he dictates what I should and should not do.
I hope tomorrow will be interesting since this is the second class on Thursday I attended. Computers is sorta boring cause, you know, I been doing that subject for years and I have grown tired of it.

The above image is from the same week as the TAFE images and during a meet & greet for the community of that area. It was a nice drink and the people are okay but tend to be a bit snobbish.
Though it was a nice day out but since I lived in the area, I been swimming often and the only problem in the recent days is I hurt my knee and doing things is very annoying.

Anyway, Loot time and maybe a few previews of my room. So first up, a delightful figurine I been dying to buy since I saw it months ago. I am slowly increasing my Bowser collection, I will take a better picture one day. The new cards are awesome but nothing worth mentioning, I may get more one day.
Here is my cat sitting on my folder of pokemon cards, well one of the two, all because I wasn't paying attention to her and paid attention to sorting my cards. I do have over 1,000 cards last time I checked and I do aim to get more cards, especially my old set of cards I have lost over the years.
So one Wednesday, I had to take my nephew's to school and on the way back, I had to take a photo of this view, I was very amused. I so hated the two+ hour walk but at least it was a one off thing.
During one of my clean-ups, I set my PC section up like this and well, at least all my amiibos are decorating the place and being reasonably used while not being used with the wii u. I can now openly have my money box/tins/storages out and not have to worry about it being stolen.
Presenting the Kitty inspired bed with Isshi and my body pillow and wow, my bed is the most interesting part of my room, in my opinion. It also has the most colour in the whole room.

Presenting the Majora's Mask SE I forgot I pre-ordered but I am pleased with it and I sorta wish I could get the other SE with the Skull Kid figurine but no, Australia is not that fucking lucky.

What else can I add here... I want to obtain Gat out of Hell. Oh, why the fuck not xD let's get this puppy and eventually get a better copy for my awesome friend =D

My other loot and final loot, is my Bowser Amiibo, who sits on the special tin of coins, well, the pretty coins anyway. The detail is amazing and it's very cute too.

Now I have to wait for the other Bowser, Lucina and Charizard. Yes, I like Amiibos and I mainly like them to be figurines around my room.

Anyway, I feel bored of talking and should get around to reviewing and playing games for my other blog. It is a fun hobby at times xD

Maybe after I get Gat out of hell and such. That and gaming day on Saturday was fun but some peeps pissed me off. Anyway, seeya for now.

Music Musings

I been asked, what is my favourite band/singer of all time.

Normally this earns the response "Which country?" or "Which Language?"
Both are still applicable.

To be honest, I adore bands like Linkin Park and Kagrra,. Which were two bands I use and still do listen to a lot.

I think after seeing Dir en Grey live back in February, my answer has somewhat changed.

Dir en Grey is pretty much an instant response but why would a concert by a Japanese band change my heart so easily.

Here is a short story.

I been listening to Dir en Grey since I first heard the song called Filth, back in like 2002, a year after initial release. At first, I listened to it once in a while but never got further until I heard Obscure in 2003, this also occurred when I started using the internet more extensively and is one of my favourite songs, along with Satsuki by Kagrra,, which is what got me more interested in Japanese music and the Japanese culture.

Errr, viewers are advised that this is very graphic and not suitable for all ages but hey, this video won me fully over into the Dir en Grey fandom. Ever since then, I been dying to see them live. For years, I been listening to the music and holding a deep hope to see them live and last year, I heard the announcement from Soundwave saying that Dir en Grey confirmed to perform. I thought it was a joke at first but it was true and I scrambled to buy a ticket.

Normally, I would go to Soundwave if I liked about 5 performers, I only liked 3 at the time but Dir en Grey was why I wanted to go and I regret nothing.
It was a hot day and they were performing in the middle of the day, so I suffered through 3 terrible bands just to make sure I was front row, I also wore one of the two shirts I bought that day, sadly, I need to take a picture of it but after waiting and my friend joining me. They came on stage, I couldn't believe it, they were there, in front of me, performing the songs that brought me into Japanese fandom, the music that kept me sane during high school and home bs. I don't think I felt anything but a normal but intense happiness, to the extent I made that much noise that I lost my voice. They also performed Obscure, I nearly cried in joy xD

See, I was front row and this was perfect for me.
Afterwards, when they were finished, I was pretty much so happy, I felt like a normal person, with no issues, that when I stepped outside, it was so bright, so full of colour.
I questioned myself if this was how the world really looked and I was glad, I was so glad to see a band I always looked up to and worshiped perform live. I think it was my happiest memory of this year.
I hope to see them live again and maybe the GazettE, that would be awesome.

One of my shirts, I shall add the other later~
So, I do reckon, after writing this, that one great live performance can change a lot of things for a person. It did for me and after 10 years of waiting xD

A slow progress

I haven't done much in regards to my life, besides little issues here and there but at the same time, I like to think I have done a lot.
I generally clean and do my things, like game when I am at the current residence and the few things I do while out and about is far and few but very endearing in regards that I am doing something I love.

I am now 25 years old and I have celebrated as such with my family, we had a nice dinner and some cake. I got to spend some time with my mother, which I actually starting to enjoy.
I mean, look at this cake~

I wish I had more of this cake, it was goooood~

Yea, I know, I am not 13 or 31 but it was a delicious ice cream cake that literally pawned. I was very happy that day.
The following Saturday was awesome, I got to see my friends, go Laser Tag and Bowling, then a few of them surprised me with a cake and I was very happy and they are sneaky bastards but I am glad to have friends like that. After that, much discussions occurred over food but was delayed until we played a few tabletop games, then foodening, then back to more games later that evening, well, until everyone left and I had a great sleep.

The next day, I obtained one of my laybys and it really put less of a strain on my stress. So, I got 4 books, finishing to sets and my PS Vita, that I been dying to play since June this year. I already had 3 games at my disposal and now awaiting my fourth of Persona 4 Golden.
I am amazed at how lovely the graphics are and how easy it is to use. Though, at the moment, I am playing Dangan Ronpa on it~

Look, even my DS bag is in this image xD
I think this looks awesome

The following week saw me obtaining the new Pokemon game and a few plushies to go with it. I sadly have not played much of it but so far, I am enjoying what I played. Of course, I started with the firey pokemon of Torchic, I think, I sorta forgot xD,
Then again, like the Vita, I got Pokemon with the help of a few birthday gifts from friends.

Didn't know there was a Pre-Order bonus of a Figure
I believe he chose wisely with that Charmander
One the day I got the Plush toys, I also got my last layby out, being in the form of a Wii U. So with all stresses gone, I now have Christmas to focus on but I am pleased at the Wii U though, I feel happy with it and I enjoy the way I can use it without having to rely so heavily on my TV, since it heats up the room a lot during summer. It is also fun to use xD

As you can see, this is the Wii U in it's natural habitat
That all that really happens in life with regards to loot.
On a personal level, I have taken up Tae Kwon Do, in hopes to maintain my health and figure. I missed a few classes due to dumb injuries but I'd like to think I made some minor improvements in the few classes I attended. I mean, I don't get so tired as much when doing the training but it's still not good enough to stop me from needing a break. In time, I will get better.

To end the post, I'd like to share my console collection to date. Nintendo at 7, Sony at 4 and Microsoft at PC. I think it's a cute little collection xD

A small sign of how many games I actually own, dedicated to each console...

Brief Overview

So this year, was the first year I went to EB Expo and due to my super laziness, I have few images to share. So let's start with the fact I have terribly nice tickets, which are now hanging around my room like a used tag, after a hard day's work.

My Cat posing with my tickets, maybe she should have went xD
So, last Saturday, I went to the Expo and, honestly, I haven't been feeling too great on that day and due to a few mishaps, it made me feel worse, so I spent a lot of the time relaxing at the lovesac section with my 3DS and watched the people go by. Eventually, I got up and tried out 'The Evil Within' and 'Till Dawn' where I do plan to buy them after being amused by the parts I did play.

PAyday 2 crew, reporting for duty~

So the above images are the cosplay images of me and my group and catching both Dallas (Arvin) and Chains (Phil) asleep. So we were the payday 2 crew, with me being Wolf and Tim being Hoxton, and sadly, I couldn't get images of use dozing, though next time I wish to get a group images of us Dancing or dozing on the lovesacs but that is a future wish =P

I do feel nervous about sharing this but why not, it's my first time cosplaying and I feel I can improve on this, hopefully fixing a whole lot of the aspect of me anyway xD

Yea, this is my free loot and I do plan to hang the other two posters in the box one day but for now, here is the image of the third one on my wall. Anyway, I got these after going through the 'The Evil Within' maze teaser at the Expo, with Hoxton and Josh, they both freaked out but I kept laughing throughout the whole maze, a tad frightened but a whole lot of hyperactivity and excitement from doing a spooky maze.

After that I got my free Skylanders figure and watched Robot Wars, like I been wanting to do since I watched the show since I was little. I also manage to procure the whole RWBY crew in plushie form, which was way worth it but I do hope to get the JNPR team in Plush form, if they ever release it. Then I spent a few hours relaxing in the car while my friends went to see Good Games.

The RWBY team is chilling with my cat.

So now onto the next day of musings.
The next day, I spent an evening playing tabletop games and similar things with a few friends from the expo, minus Arvin. So basically me, Tim, Josh, Daniel and Phil. It was fun but the only image I have is the insane game of Ticket to Ride Europe.

Other games include: Blackjack, The Simpsons Scene it, Cards against Humanity and of course, Ticket to Ride Europe. It was a fun night, was there till like 4am but it was probably worth it xD.

This game was just insane...
So presenting my last few days of loot, since I like sharing all the cute little things I have procured. So below we have Super Smash Bros on 3DS and it is quite fun actually, though it shares half it's playtime with Theatrhythm Curtain Call.

Loot and Purple 'Juice'
Today was shopping day and despite my backpack killing my back all day, I still manage to get some nice loot, mainly to kick Phil's ass in commander and I like Bowser, so I am forever increasing my collection of this character and of course, there is my cat as usual. She makes such a nice model.

A new expensive hobby is possibly coming...
Annnnd that's it really, I am just going to add some musings shortly, I just didn't see how it fit with this is all.
